After WPPI, I asked them if I could have another sale like I did last year. I think they were still in a hazy stupor from Vegas because they said “Sure, Carey.”

Plus, this is HIGH END canvas, folks! My canvas folks up in Orange County use PRIMO canvas, inks, and coatings, guaranteed not to fade over generations. Less expensive canvas printers use canvas that has a coating called “OBA” (Optical Brightening Agent). Because the canvas is cheaper, it doesn’t hold color well, so it needs help, which is where OBA comes in. Trouble is, OBAs break down over time, and those canvas images look dull — BIG BUMMER! OBAs aren’t bad if you think of canvases as disposable, if you know you’re going to be tossing or replacing them after a few years. If you know you want to keep them on display for a lifetime, you’re gonna want to get a more high-end canvas!
