Last July I caught one of my favorite pictures of the year in Balboa Park
when these two cuties went splashing in the water near the Science Center.
Those twins are one year older and one year funner (yes, that's a word. I said so!) now,
and I met their family earlier this week for their annual birthday session.
The session started on a trail WAY up high in the sky.
I loved the clouds, so I squatted down low to make sure I could get as much of those clouds as I could:
Then there was some rock stacking (3yr old style)
and some family lovin'
(Kyle was a big fan of the 'leg up' action that day)
Then we went down the trails to the water, and OF COURSE, if there are pepples,
they need to be TOSSED!
It's hard to pick a favorite picture from that day, but this one is up there for sure! I love Kyle's follow through!
I also think the grainy black & white enhances the pic rather than just laying over schtuff on top of a picture.

Even at the beach on a BRIGHT SUNNY HOT morning, it's possible to find shade sometimes,
and find shade we did!
Just because we were chillin' in the shade, the giggles & fun didn't stop, though.
In this case, they were upside down giggles:

Then we got some true personality shots to finish out the session:

This is fun, too...
Check out this shot from home!
That's the 16x20 canvas that mom & dad got from their very first Barefoot Memories session
for the twins' FIRST birthday 2 years ago!
See the blankee? So does she!

Enjoy!

May gray had to surrender, but June gloom came in and took over!
The beach was overcast this weekend, which comes along with some lovely perks:
1) the light is nice & soft, so nobody has to squint
2) the beach is pretty empty
Sunday afternoon I met three awesome families on the beach in La Jolla,
and we had a LOT of fun playing, racing, jumping, sand castle building, and enjoying the ocean.
Enjoy!
mom & daughter racing:
dad stealing a kiss (there were witnesses to the theft)
girl time in the sand:
big bro easing his little brother towards the water with gentle encouragment:

Have a great afternoon!

QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT:
If you'd like an AFTERNOON MINIon a weekend (those are rare),
I've got a few openings for this Saturday and Sunday in La Jolla!
Email me at barefootmemories@gmail.com if you're interested!
Have a great day!

Eariler this week, I met Sam and her family in Balboa Park.
They all drove down from Orange County on Sam's 2nd birthday for a fun photo session.
What a HUGE compliment that this awesomecool family chose to spend such a special day with me!
I have a truckload of images to share, so I'll just get right to it instead of my usual babble:
...love this shot of Sam running & laughing from dad...
Sam LOVES bubbles, and she's VERY good at blowing bubbles, too. She was just trying out a new
(ineffective, it turns out) bubble blowing technique for this shot.
WEEE!!! What is it with kids & defying gravity!!?
OK, I don't think it's just kids. If we adults could find someone who could do this for us, too,
I'm sure we'd be allllll over it, too!
This is a railing that comes up to hip-level of most adults. I love how little she looks!
Wardrobe change!! (A perk of a full session vs a Mini!) She definitely looks up to her dad.
This is one of my favorites (big shocker there!)
and one last shot... you know how 2-yr-olds LOVE lining up things? perfect example:
Enjoy!

Do you remember the cool shots I created so that Mat's soccer team
could win their trip to the David Beckham Academy?
I've decided to donate shots like that to a lucky (and generous) Eastlake Little League family!
If you've got a player in Eastlake Little League down here in the south bay of San Diego,
you know that Opening Day is tomorrow! (Saturday, March 7th)
I've had a lot of interest in cool sports shots of youth athletes,
so I decided to donate a "YouthProShots" session to the ELL silent auction.
Each team had to donate a basket of goodies to the ELL silent auction,
so if you're there at Opening Day, look for the basket from a cute little T-ball team
that has a goodie in there from YOUTHPROSHOTS!
The winner's team will get an action photo session where I'll take action shots of every player
with the uber-cool snazzy lighting.
I'll use those shots to make a SUPER COOL 3ft x 5ft team full-color team banner!
(We're not talking the air-brushed felt things, people! You know I wouldn't do that!)
I've already heard that lots of folks want to win this,
so my recommendation is to get together with fellow team parents and pool your money
so you can WIN this for your team!
Good luck!!
