While we were up in LA for the David Beckham Academ this weekend,
I learned a few important things:
1) My 5Deux DID had a focusing problem before I sent it back to Canon.
I noticed slower-than-I'd-like AF responsiveness from the camera initially.
I didn't know if I needed to get used to the new camera or what.
During this weekend shooting soccer, the AF speed was FABULOUS!
I'm so glad that it wasn't me and that the new 5D does have EXCELLENT AF performance.
2) Shooting video on this thing is HARD!!!
I'm not planning on doing anything more than soccer-mom home videos,
but I'd like to get better at video so that I can get better results from this camera!
The videos I shot are wobbly, jerky, the type "only a mother would love,"
but they're still fun! And I see the potential!!
3) Editing video is even harder than SHOOTING the video!
I can't stand editing video.
I used iMovie on my Mac, but it's still not much fun.
Getting iMovie to export anything that will look decent is impossible for me.
Whenever I export my iMovie project and upload it to YouTube,
it looks even worse than the original. I need all the help I can get!
I don't need my already-suckee videos looking WORSE!!
So now, onto the pics and video!!
Here's Mat in action at the Academy on Saturday:
And here is his teammate, Joseph,
after scoring a goal in the World Cup finals!
And the whole team at the end of the weekend:
I finished putting together this movie this morning,
when I should have been doing laundry.
That shows you how much I hate laundry --
I chose editing video over laundry!!
Tomorrow morning I leave for MacWorld!
I printed my bus ticket ... I mean Southwest boarding pass (Group A baby!)... this morning.
If you're in the area, stop by the Mpix booth and say hi!
